Bruce Krebs presents and comments on the creation of the sculpture entitled :

The wind spirit
a sculpture by Bruce Krebs

In the hair of a woman in full wind, a small female character seems to cling to her hair...
may be a spirit.

For the main character, I opted for a head of hair tied at its end.
For the "spirit" I opted for free hair.

I started from a head that I had carved in preparation for another sculpture: "Dreams in cascade ". The piece was lying in a corner of my workshop. One day, I saw a long shadow of my head on a panel behind...

From this shadow, I saw "like a strained hair"... I photographed the head and its shadow and I drew on the photo what could be a hair styled by the wind.

I cut a neck out of polyurethane, then later, for balance reasons, I added shoulders. And I coated everything with plaster.

Three months later, I added this little character in my hair... In my mind, these two characters have become "a sculpture". But the "genius" wasn’t buried enough in the woman’s hair (as in the photo). Also, I changed the position of his arms, as though he were clinging to the hair so as not to fly away...
