I hadn't made any preiminary sketchs.
At the start I only had this gilded wooden frame.
I had selected a rather strict frame
for an entirely different scheme.
To me, the young girl is coming out
of the frame
both in the literal and
figurative senses of the word.
That's to that purpose,
I required from my founder
a darker background.
I didn't want that background
to be another colour,
of a different shade of brown
for instance.
I wanted the same colour,
because the young girl doesn't come
out of a world which is foreign to her,
she is gently stepping out of her own world.

she is very careful so as not to hurt herself. She is a teenager with a ponytail, careful but determined.
