The story :

Vladimir Maļakovski is a poet, a playwright and an actor. It was one of the leader of the Cubo-futuristic movement in Russia. At the time of a short passage in Paris, Maiakovski discovers the rumours about him.
Tom Thomas Krebs wrote this film starting from the texts of the poet.


Editing :

The Maiakovski'reflexions are expressed by geometrical forms. (in a abstract style) The drinkers of the breweries of Montparnasse are represented by abstract forms, more aggressive...
Behind plane a hubbub of bar

      Woman 1 (amused)
- All roads lead to Rome! you know.

      Man 1 (reassuring)
- But not here in Montparnasse.

      Man 1
- In all this breweries, one can come there from everywhere, by thousand and one ways, we flows there from the boulevard.

      Man 2
- Waiter, an American grog!.

      The waiter
- one grog, one !

      Woman 2 (confidential)
- Here, a few moments ago, Maiakovski came in. The lame one... Did you see him?...

      Maļakovski (to himself)
- In the bar hubbub, the words, the mouths, the faces merge initially. But from all these words, the rumour emerges, the sentences become deformed


      Man 1
- He's a cop, I tell you.

      Man 2
- With whom he was?

      Woman 2 (very proud)
- With Nicolas Nicolaievitch .

      Man 1 (convinced)
- He's here to pose bombs...

      Woman 3
- Where ?

      Man 1
- In the "bois de Boulogne"...

      Homme 2 (taunting)
- Which one ?

      Woman 2
- Ah well ! The great duke, of course!
(...)

      Man 2 (merry)
- Jokes all that... and painful to hear! He's not called Michka, but Pavel! - Listen, often I tell him: "You see, my dear Pavel!... you would have to..."

      Woman 2 (stopping him)
- his wife also, besides... the princess...hmm... a brown girl there, who is not thirty years old...

      Woman 1
- No! Maiakovski? He's not married!

      Woman 2
- But of course yes, he is! With a empress, I tell you!

      Woman 1
- Which one? This woman who has been shoted ?...

      Man 2
- The tcheka (the police force from over there) has all confiscated he Nekrassov poet work... and gave the all to Maļakovski!

      Woman 3

      Man 2

      Woman 2
- And it sells... all worms, all, all, until the least comma! Ha has all swiped ! I tell you ! »

- Oh Paris! Eternal Capital !
Are they worthy of you, this emigrants'gossip.
J'étouffe, Sortons méditer...


(he goes to the boulevard)
... What to do? To spit on all that! (evasive) aaah!
Everyone doesn't have the hollow ears!
But all the same, with force, like that, forcing...
It could be engraved!..


      Maiakovski (he send to the drinkers assembly)
- Listen, friends, when you read that Maiakovski is buddy with Churchill... or he married the Lincoln'girl, I ask you humbly to don't believe it...

(During this speech, the gossip began again, the voices mix.)

      All together begin their reflexions again:

- He is here to pose bombs... Where ?... The tcheka, the police there, it confiscated all Nekrassov... In the "bois de Boulogne"... That one who was shot ?... The Great duc ! ... The lame one? ...The tcheka...


      ... Don't you see him ? ...Maiakovski saved her with a million dollars! Maiakovski... he is a poet... No, he's a cop, I tell you...


      Maļakovski (to himself)

- Often, I wonder whether if I wouldn't make better pose a final point to my life.


      All together begin their reflexions again:

- That one who has been shoted... Tell me so ?... The great Duc ! sure... for a million dollars!... The tcheka... Maiakovski is a poet... he's here to pose bombs... here to pose bombs... pose bombs...


      Maļakovski (to himself)

- ... I wonder whether...
...if a bullet...

(shot, the blue triangle carries with him the white circle...)
