From July the 4th, 2005, to may 31th, 2006, Bruce Krebs, sculptor and multimediaster, hs created a series of art works starting from the inheritance of the Fine arts Museum of La Rochelle, in France...

"The young convalescent"

Three blows of brush transform the face of the little girl into convalescent. The painting of Géo entitled "the return to the life" is very moving. Precisely because its feature appears vague, Géo obtains a more alive effect.

I proposed with the Fine Arts museum of La Rochelle to carry out "a large plan" of the face of the young patient. It was not a question for me of remaking the table. It was rather a question of stressing its weak glance.

On the sides of my table, I wrote the inventory of the objects present in the painting of Géo. This inventory returns in the painting of Géo, rich in details. Here this inventory:

a curtain, a pantry, a bag with provision, a soup tureen, a water jug with a grid, a cooker with feet, a water jug out of tin, the plate of the cat, "the little echo of the Mode", an engraving of communion, a "virgin with the roses", an image of Christ, a boxwood bit, a bed, a mud of night, an eiderdown, "Snipe" ("Becassine") , "the sapper Camembert", a page of almanac, a clock, a spoon with soup, a chair, a groundwork, the photography of a grandfather, a mirror, one oil, of lemon, eau de Cologne in glass, spoon.

Two tables side by side...

''The young convalescent'' of Bruce Krebs

(little precision: Under its signature, Géo dated its table: 1907. On one of the two illustrated ones posed on the bed, one distinguishes well the red trousers of the Camembert sapper. For the other, the doubt is allowed: After having drawn aside Bibi Fricotin which was published only in 1914, I hesitated between "Snipe" ("Becassine") and "intrepid Lili", the very popular ones at that time…)
