This painting of Jean-Jules Geoffroy (who signs "Géo") is very impressive. The painter succeeded in telling in some features a whole life of workman.
First glance one discovers in the foreground, the blower and its apprentice. With its musculature, we guess that the blower was strong in its youth. Today, the blower is exhausted, emptied.
Behind plane, the visitor discovers other workmen and other apprentices. Géo took care to represent three workmen at different ages. In the foreground, the old man. On his left, a young man, expresses all the pride of his new statute. It blows as if it played of the trumpet. In the content still another workman, forty is.
Three ages, three phases of the action to blow. To draw the matter in fusion, to blow, cross...
The apprentices have all the same age. The first, of back is occupied with the furnace. The second benefits from one moment to look at the painter. Third is in smoke.

For my sculpture, I created a patina in brown-red to increase the effect of lassitude, the white of the plaster appeared too merry…
